Founded in 1925 in Mexico City, Kendik Rubber Company started in the business of making shoe soles and heels. In 1945 we moved to the US and relocated the factory to Philadelphia, with the primary business being stair treads and mats. In 1964 we started in the plumbing supply trade, and in 1966 moved to our current location, a 40,000 square foot building in Lansdale, PA, 20 miles North of Philadelphia. We have mixing capacity with installed machinery of well over 3 million pounds of rubber compound a year, as well as surplus equipment that could yield over 100,000 pounds per day. On the molding side, we have 15 installed compression molding presses that range from 15" x 15" to 32" x 32", and many more presses as surplus. We have a wide variety of compression molds for common products that includes all shapes and sizes of plungers, toilet tank balls, flapper tank balls, doorstops, sink stoppers, garbage disposal guards, chair tips, crutch and cane tips, finger pads, and other assorted items. We have a machine shop with capability of making new molds, and decades of experience doing so.
There are a few things that set us apart from other suppliers. First and foremost is that we do everything we can to make sure our products are high quality, on time, and low cost. The quality results from time tested compound formulas developed by us, formulas that are known to do a great job without being too exotic and expensive. It also comes from proper supervision of well trained employees who inspect the products they make at a rate of 100%, meaning every part we sell is inspected for quality, no matter how low priced. That keeps rejects and related problems and costs at a minimum. Orders are produced on time and shipped on time, often with much shorter lead times than standard to the industry. We make sure compounding materials are in stock, production schedules are flexible, and shipping schedules are kept orderly so that customers have a 100% on time rate order fulfillment. As for the cost factor, we keep overhead super low, having no office staff or wasted employee time. We get great material pricing from suppliers we've had for long periods of time, some more than 50 years, ensuring preferrential treatment even during times of shortages. Also keeping costs low are proprietary and innovative production methods that result in dramatically lower energy and labor costs than are typically seen in the production of rubber products. That means our prices are always competitive and often lower than our domestic competitors, and even our foreign ones. As proof of that know that we have had the lowest priced plunger on the American retail market for the last 40 years, regardless of country of origin. Nobody does it better or cheaper than Kendik.
